What our service does

At Revive Pool Pros, we specialize in aesthetic removal of calcium buildup through media blasting — a powerful but safe process that strips away surface-level deposits and restores the look of your pool tile, stone, and water features.

What our service DOes NOT DO

We do not treat the water chemistry or structural conditions that lead to calcium growth.

• We do not permanently prevent future buildup.

• We do not alter the porousness of stone or hairline fractures in tile or grout that naturally push minerals to the surface.

Why does calcium occur?

Calcium buildup is primarily caused by:

• Hard water: Texas is known for having very hard water, rich in calcium and magnesium.

• Evaporation: As pool water evaporates, it leaves behind mineral deposits. Over time, these minerals accumulate.

• High pH or Total Alkalinity: Imbalanced pool chemistry accelerates calcium formation.

• Salt systems: Salt chlorinators can lead to calcium scaling, especially near spillways and stone features.

• Microcracks & Porous Surfaces: Hairline cracks and porous materials (like natural stone) allow minerals and salts to push through, crystallizing into visible buildup.

What is calcium build-up?

Calcium buildup is a common and persistent issue in Texas pools, especially around tile lines, water features, and natural stone. What you’re seeing is typically calcium carbonate or calcium silicate — hard, chalky white deposits that form when dissolved minerals in water become solid and settle on surfaces.

IMPORTANT NOTES

Calcium may begin to reappear within days, weeks, months, or years depending on a variety of factors unique to your pool’s environment, materials, pre-existing condition, and care. This is completely normal and expected in most Texas pools.

Is pool calcium preventable?

Not entirely. While regular maintenance and water balancing can help slow the process, calcium buildup is not 100% preventable. Environmental factors like sun exposure, weather, and even the materials used in your pool’s construction all play a role.

OUR PROMISE

We will always do our absolute best to remove as much calcium as possible and will leave your surfaces looking refreshed and beautiful. But it’s important to understand this is a cosmetic, not chemical or structural, solution.
